Thrive | Family Testimony | Family Partner Volunteer Opportunity

What is it? THRIVE is Rebuilding the Walls process to homeownership. Qualified very low to low income families are given the opportunity to become first time homeowners. Families make an average of a two year commitment to partner with Rebuilding the Wall to focus on building stability, creating a vision for the future, and developing a natural support network that is invested in permanent community. During this time, families complete volunteer hours towards the rehab of their home, partner with INHP to meet financial goals and become lender ready, and become engaged in the neighborhood through their family partner and through community events.

Family Qualifications:
- Single woman/man with children or married couple with children
- Express homeownership as a primary goal
- Be currently employed or have stable source of income
- Be a first time home-buyer or have had a foreclosure
- Qualify as low-income according to HUD guidelines
- Not using drugs or abusing alcohol
- Desire to live within target community (Citizens King and Martindale Brightwood neighborhoods).

Family Commitments:
- Complete family inventory with THRIVE Coordinator
- Attend a Rebuilding The Wall Family Orientation
- Devote a minimum of six volunteer hours per month
- Complete Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (INHP) Program
- Work with Family Partner on Family Vision and goals
- Attend monthly Making Your Money Work classes and other RTW events

Rebuilding the Wall is currently recruiting families interested in being first time homeowners in Citizen's King-Park & Martindale Brightwood Communities. Rebuilding the Wall partners with low income families to help them pursue their dream of first time homeownership. To qualify, families must be currently employed or have a steady source of income and must be able to devote six volunteer hours(per adult)per month toward the construction of their family home.
