Special News - - Environmental Action!
As some
of you may know, RTW and King Park Area Development
Corporation are partnering together on a brown field
located at 2444 North Winthrop. One of our challenges is
how to get rid of the debris on the lot, specifically
100’s of tires that are in the building and on the
property.
Lucky for us
Health and Hospital is having a “Tire Amnesty Day” on SaturdayJune 9, 2007.
What we are asking is for you (if you have the right type
of vehicle, truck, cargo van, etc.) to come by 2444 Winthrop between 9-11
a.m., we will load you up with your 10 tires
and then you drop them off at 4001 East 21st
Street (just east of Sherman Drive). For just 20 minutes
of your time, we could save thousands of dollars in clean
up and disposal costs and make a huge impact on the
environment.
!Special Update! - The Marion county Health
Department - Mosquito Control has agreed to partner with
us by giving us special permission to bring as many tires
as we can.
RTW and
King Park would like to have an idea of how many folks
might participate so we can have the tires out of the
building and ready to load. If you are interested, please
RSVP to Curt Bennet,
cbennett@kpadc.org.
Let me
know if you have questions and I would like to thank you
in advance for your assistance.

Rebuilding the Wall is currently
recruiting Family Partners to mentor families as they
work to achieve their goal of first time homeownership.
Rebuilding The Wall works to stabilize and empower
low-income families by renovating vacant inner city
properties and giving the families the opportunity for
homeownership. Family Partners make a one year
commitment to develop a meaningful relationship with a
Rebuilding The Wall family. Partners work hand-in-hand
on rehabbing family homes, spending time together in
prayer and fellowship, and spending social time together
at RTW gatherings. Partners are also given monthly
training and education. If you are interested in
this exciting urban ministry opportunity, please contact
Shelley Landis, THRIVE Coordinator, at (317) 925-9789,
